The Fists of a Devil
The melancholic opening of “Angel” by Sarah McLachlan begins. The video footage shows college students at their graduation. Families cheer for their graduating family member. People leaving their college dormitories and apartments.
The song begins: 🎵 “Spend all your time waiting/for that second chance/for a break that would make it okay/There’s always some reason to not feel good enough”🎶
Sarah McLachlan
Hi, I’m Sarah McLachlan. You might remember me from those traumatizing ASPCA commercials. Well, I’m back to help another community in need, Millennials and Gen Z, in their quest for full time jobs.
A recent graduate is looking at the job postings. The screen recording of the full time job posting states that the company is looking for a recent graduate with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree; the person looks excited and ready to apply, but suddenly, there is a look of sadness. The bullet point underneath the degree requirements stipulates that a minimum of 5 years of full-time experience is also required.
🎵 “In the arms of the angel/Fly away from here”🎶
Sarah McLachlan
Yes, for only $28.00 an hour and paid benefits, such as an affordable and working healthcare and dental plan, you, too, can help a Millennial or Gen Z afford to live as an adult.
Another recent graduate is at a job fair; there are 5,000 people also looking for a full time job. The person feels disheartened after waiting an hour for their desired company and the desired job position, only to see the boredom in the eyes of the company representative and the pile of unattended CVs.
🎵 “You are pulled from the wreckage/Of your silent reverie/You’re in arms of the angel”🎶
Sarah McLachlan
Let’s be honest, we all began somewhere at some point in time; so, why not give them a chance? Why must the younger generations be punished for continuing their educational paths and only have access to part-time jobs, which cannot even pay off their student loans?
A recent graduate is shown a college poster child for their alma mater for their success and newly established business; in miniscule font, that person is a nepo-baby.
🎵 “So tired of the straight line/And everywhere you turn/There’s vultures and thieves at your back”🎶
Sarah McLachlan
Bro, are you serious? They just let this sh$t happen? What the fu---

The camera quickly cuts away from Sarah McLachlan to her sad song followed by a montage of people working at their part-time jobs and living at their parents’ homes. One person is an Amazon employee.
🎵 “You keep on building the lies/That you make up for all that you lack/It don’t make no difference/Escaping one more time”🎶
Sarah McLachlan
No, because seriously, Amazon, wakeup call buddy, if you, Jeff Bezos or whoever is the CEO of Amazon, had one million dollars to donate to Trump; you better pull that money and more to raise the wage, benefits, and titles of the people! It doesn’t matter if you’re an employee or a CEO, at the end of the day, you’re a human being and your job is designed to help other people. Otherwise, you’ll have to deal with not the arms of an angel, but the fists of a devil. (The producers and director make faces to Sarah.) What? What do you mean I’m fired? This was a volunteer position!!!
🎵 “You’re in the arms of the angel/May you find some comfort here…”🎶
